t4 | package presentation

dp | self evaluation

My research has been a little different than other projects. I'm meeting with the artists / contributors on a daily basis, visiting their studios, and talking about their work. This is really important to me because I want to come up with ideas together for how their work will fit into Likewise. I would say I've done a pretty good job with planning and coordinating all these different peoples' schedules and my own. I'm also documenting these meetings on Instagram and taking my own personal notes. Although I know I should be better about blogging, I feel like I'm using my time wisely. Also all of this information usually gets caught up during class presentations. That's when I take a step back and collect all the work I've done since the previous presentation. It's definitely helpful for me to kinda be forced to that. Otherwise I would probably just keep moving forward without taking that essential step back.

I've also applied for three different proposals at this point, (Goodman Grant, BFA show, and Front Space), so I would say that I'm now very comfortable writing about the project. This formal writing has also helped me better learn how to talk about the project conversationally.

Likewise overall is honestly what I'm doing in all of my spare time and I truly enjoy all the work that goes into it. I feel like this is something that I could be really happy doing professionally and I'm already treating it as if it will continue on. I'm definitely taking a big risk just by doing a project so big in such a short amount of time, this risk-taking is what fuels me. I don't want to let all the contributors down.

Luckily, I'm almost at the deadline for content in which all my focus will shift toward designing. I've already dabbled in it, but I'm excited to really dive in and figure that all out. I'm really pleased with how things have gone so far. I don't think I could've picked a better project for me right now. I'm networking myself and feeling proud of what I can accomplish. I'm excited to see the final product.

Derick, Michael, and I each did 2 style boards over the weekend. Today in class we picked elements from all 6 to come up with this style direction. The studies are not cohesive yet, we were all messing around separately / trying out ideas.

sx | senior show ideas

title: ( H ) O U R S

rough statement / general idea:

4 years. 1460 days. 35040 hours. We've put in the hours. Now it's our time to show what we've done. It's our time to move on. But before we do, let's celebrate the hours we've spent here & show what we're made of.

style one: forward / motion, bright / colorful, graphic shapes, large numbers

style two: black & white with one other color (maybe pink), little more up scale, illustrative
